Dynamic Mapping, Live Insight

Sometimes the best way to understand a dataset is to explore it geographically and interact with it in real time rather than looking at static charts or reports.
That’s one of the core ideas behind the ChartFactor’s Airbnb analytics application. Built using public InsideAirbnb data, the app allows users to explore listings through a fully interactive geo experience - comparing entire homes vs. private rooms, higher-activity vs. lower-activity listings, pricing trends, estimated income, licensing status, top hosts, and more.
What makes the experience particularly interesting is how interactive the map layer is. As users zoom, pan, or draw custom shapes around neighborhoods or city blocks, all of the metrics update dynamically in real time. Instead of filtering data through rigid menus, users can explore naturally and see patterns emerge directly from the map itself.
For U.S. properties, the app also integrates Realtor.com market data, bringing in additional context such as median listing prices, active listings, days on market, and broader real estate trends over time.
Built using ChartFactor Studio with a fully customized look and feel, the app is a strong example of how interactive analytics can turn large public datasets into something far more usable, exploratory, and engaging.
